Surah Al Furqan Ayat 8 Translation Tafseer

Para 18 - قَدْ اَفْلَحَ

سورة الفرقان

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

25.8

اَوْ یُلْقٰۤى اِلَیْهِ كَنْزٌ اَوْ تَكُوْنُ لَهٗ جَنَّةٌ یَّاْكُلُ مِنْهَاؕ-وَ قَالَ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ اِنْ تَتَّبِعُوْنَ اِلَّا رَجُلًا مَّسْحُوْرًا(8)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

Or a ˹hidden˺ treasure sent down to him or a garden for him from which he would eat?”[1] And the oppressors said, “You only follow a man who has been bewitched.”

By these words, the disbelievers sought to question why Allah Almighty did not make His Beloved صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم free of needing food and drink. If this was the case, the treasures of the unseen would come to him, and he صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would not need to earn. Their question was driven by what they saw in the outward behaviour of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. Yet, in reality, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was granted the treasures of the unseen by Allah Almighty. He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم himself said, “اُعْطِیْتُ مَفَاتِیْحَ خَزَائِنِ الْاَرْض”, meaning, I was granted the keys to the treasures of the earth. (Ṣaḥīḥ Al-Bukhārī:1344) However, many of these matters were not seen or understood by the disbelievers, which is why they would say such things.
